Peer Learning

Read previous Peer-Learning Notes

The objectives of peer-learning is the transfer of knowledge, skills and experience from one municipality to others. This can entail technical assistance to solve specific municipal challenges, benchmarking to inspire change, or other forms of peer support.

During a peer-learning event, participants listen actively and share their stories, knowledge, and experiences. Participants are students and advisers at the same time which makes a peer-learning event different to “classical” forms of learning where the student has a more passive role.

Peer Learning Notes

Since the first peer learning exchange in Durban in 2011, UCLG Learning has aimed to document the exchanges, good practices, and lessons learnt in “Peer-Learning Notes” to make the acquired knowledge accessible for everybody.

 Testimonials

Monica Fein

former Mayor of Rosario, Argentina

There are many cities that have had very innovative experiences. We use them as references to see what they did right and which problems they encountered.

Noraini Binti Roslan

Mayor of Subang Jaya, Malaysia

Cities are a dynamic ecosystem. We change every hour, every year, and we can learn from other places that have better or best practices.
